Cleaning the Pipes

Today, my daughter/granddaughter stayed home from school. She was complaining of tummy pain and absolutely begging me to take her to the Urgent Care. Now, most parents would give in and take their child. Well not I! I am a firm believer that for something minor, it is best to try something natural first.
Now don't get me wrong. If I feel there is something major going on I will definitely take my child in for a medical consult. However, since she told me AFTER I called the school that her tummy still hurt and she had a nightmare about Chucky and her wrist hurt, I figured it was pretty safe to assume it was something minor. She had also been eating a lot of cheese and tortillas lately. (It's her favorite food).  So I told her to stay in bed and I made her some hot tea with ginger root, peppermint and lavender.
The next thing I know I hear "MOOOOOM!!" I am frantic! I run to her room and she isn't in there. I look around in a panic and notice her bathroom light is on. I go to the bathroom and knock on the door. "Are you ok?" I ask. She yells "Come in! I need you to see this!" I immediately open the door and she points into the toilet.
Right there floating around is a baseball sized TURD!  I mean this thing was ROUND! That had to be extremely painful to push out!
"Thats was the rock in my stomach mom, I feel better".
I cringed and said "Well, I am glad you got the rock out." and walked out of the bathroom. She is now playing with the dog and running around. That was at 9:00 am.
I should've sent her to school...
Moral of the story, hot tea with some good natural ingredients can help clean the pipes.

The crazy power of Oregano oil

About a week ago, my little one had a strange circle on her ankle. She came to me complaining it was itching. I took a look at it and realized it was ringworm. I decided I was going to try a holistic approach to this. I researched a bit as this was something I had not come across this type of illness in the past.
What I discovered is that Oregano is filled with antibodies and was used to treat ringworm. So we tried it. I mixed 5 drops of oregano essential oil with 1 teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil. All DoTERRA products.
The first evening I put it on right before bed. The next morning, the ringworm was almost gone! I couldn't believe it. (I will post pics later). We put the medicine on three times a day over the weekend and twice a day (in the morning and in the evening before bed) during her school days. The fifth day the ringworm was gone. It was an amazing recovery. If I had any doubt in the healing power of essential oils (which I didn't) It was completely gone now.  Please comment below if you have ever tried Oregano oil for any holistic practice. I would love to hear your stories!

How did I manage before??

Hi everyone, I'm Kim Sosa, owner and CEO of Mother Earth Bath and Body.  If you read my Bio, you know I recently retired from a full career in Law Enforcement. What you may not know, is I was also a single mom with no help from my daughter's father. I was lucky enough to have my grandparents help me with babysitting. However, I rarely got enough time to myself. The shift work put me at work during all hours of the day and night. Once I got home, all I wanted to do was rest. Now, that wasn't going to happen because I still had a daughter to take care of. Right at the end of my career, I adopted my granddaughter. She was a baby and I was working and going to college. I was working 7 am to 3 pm, picking up my 6 month old granddaughter from daycare after work, feeding and bathing her, had a bit of playtime, then she was off to bed.  Then, I would sit and do homework until late in the night.
I managed to graduate with a 3.0 GPA and keep my household together.
Now that I am retired, I can't figure out how I did it! I look at my to do list and it's still full! I have deleted school and a full time job and yet, my list has grown with other things. My grandduaghter is now 6 going on 7 and helps with light chores for a weekly allowance. She wines a bit until I give her my list and say "Well, I will trade you chores".  That seems to stop the whining.
I just want to say to all you moms out there that are handling your business. Single or not. KUDOS!!! Being a mom id a full time job and if you are working to support your family on top of that then you deserve DOUBLE KUDOS!
It's a never ending job from the day we give birth. I guess that's why they call it labor.
